What can my in ground swimming pool to lose about a foot of water?
We just moved into the house and found the pool loses about 1 to 2 feet of water a day or two after being filled. I do not know much about pools, but have not found any leaks evident. We live in Southern California. Thanks for your help.
You do not say if this is a group of gypsum or pool … In any event, it is likely that the underground pipe has not … a small leak loses lots of water! To rule out the cracks or holes in the pool, allow the pool to sink to the extent that … if not empty completely, plumbing for drains in poor or the bottom of the pool is cracked. (unpleasant, very expensive repair), if you stop somewhere along the wall of the pool, check the wall at that level to find the crack / hole. Turn off all pumps during this test. If it is lost only when the pumps are, then you have a leak in plumbing filter, pump, or water of the pool. In any case, you must determine if the leak is, and this is the way to go. Do not worry about the loss of water is adding a huge amount of daily, and if you do not find the leak, which will continue to add water! and chemicals! If it leaks only when the pump runs, There are devices that can "hear" the water leak to pinpoint your location. Good luck
