What brands of old stoneware are the best to buy?
I'm looking to pick up some old style earthenware and stoneware Western Monmouth, Red Wing, so I'm curious, what brand is the "best" in terms of durability and holding its value. I would like my children to pass these on! Am specifically looking for boats.
Practically buy antiques and will appreciate in value. The two leaders that you mentioned are excellent, such as Brush-McCoy, and Niloak. If not want to spend a lot of money, consider Robinson-Ramsbottom. The pottery is undervalued at this time, while growing in popularity daily. The main thing, of course, is just to buy what you like.
